Behavior Support Services determines the reason or function of undesirable behaviors and assists individuals in replacing them with more appropriate social and adaptive skills leading to increased relationships and independence in the community. Behavior Support Specialists work with children, young adults, and adults, as well as their guardians, to:

  • Determine the purpose of the behavior and understand the situation from his or her perspective through a functional behavior analysis
  • Assist in managing his or her own behavior
  • Assist acquiring more socially appropriate behavior
  • Assist your family and direct care staff in implementing individually designed behavioral support strategies in a natural environment

We understand and appreciate your desire to seek services to help address your loved ones behavior. We also understand how difficult it can be to get the help you need, when you need it. Please know that our licensed Behavior Support Specialists are available seven days a week and can accommodate various schedules. We will work with you to provide our service in your home, school, work, or at The Arc of Evansville facility at 615 W. Virginia Street.
