Thank you for choosing to volunteer with The Arc of Evansville! Volunteers are a valuable component of our organization as all volunteer tasks support our mission of empowering individuals with disabilities to build relationships, gain independence and achieve their full potential.
Youth Volunteer Guidelines
A youth volunteer must be between the ages of 14 and 17. Youth volunteers must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or school representative at all times. Youth volunteers may work for a maximum of 3 hours per shift. Youth Volunteers will be subject to the same screening requirements of regular volunteers with the exception of criminal history checks since they are considered juveniles under the law and those criminal histories are not available. As with all volunteers, youth volunteers may be asked to stop or reduce their volunteer work if the volunteer proves to be more of a hindrance than a help to the agency. Youth Volunteers cannot assist in child or client programs and can only volunteer in non-direct support areas.
